Anne Sibley O’Brien talked about Visual Thinking Strategies when she presented to the PINE Cohort on February 15th. Here is a link to the nonprofit VTS, that educates “teachers to use a student-centered facilitation method to create inclusive discussions,” by highlighting students’ observations and tapping into their prior knowledge during classroom conversations. These strategies support students’ ability to reason with evidence and think flexibly. There is evidence that using these strategies build confidence in communication including writing, can develop cohesion in a classroom community, and when used specifically to view art increase a student’s ability to appreciate unique perspectives in art.

Thank you for this! I have always been curious.
